Here's Diamond Dick! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, by 1911 all semblence of decency was crumbling. At least he's more dignified than Deadwood Dick.

Not coincidentally, the only thing vaguely female on this cover is Dick. It's a story called "Diamond Dick's Border Play," which probably features a scene with Cruz de Bathhouse and Paco Salad. Again, the caption gives you a good indication of the type of story we're looking at: The veil fell away, the cloak dropped to the floor, but instead of the beautiful captured girl, Diamond Dick stood revealed to the astounded audience. I'd be astounded, too. Apparently his talent reaches from Broadway to the Rio Grande.

And in case you thought slash fiction was invented on the internet...
